Beginner's Guide to Motorcycles

basic posture
To be a good motorcyclist, we must master the correct riding posture. Whatever type of vehicle you ride in, each rider must do the following:
First of all, maintain body balance, posture must be correct, can not lean left and right.
Second, the body should relax, the posture is not stiff, the hands gently hold the handlebar, not dead pressed, if dead press the handlebar direction, can not control the direction well, can not give full play to the flexibility of motorcycle single direction. In addition, in addition to controlling the direction, the two hands must also control the clutch, the turning light and the brakes, so they must be flexible.
Third, keep the balance between the body and the car, at the same time, you can change the body posture flexibly as needed. For example, when turning, the body changes position with the tilt of the vehicle body to achieve the integration of people and vehicles.
When driving normally, the body sits in the car, the spine is arched, the hips should not be too far back or forward, the two-hand light handles, the elbows slightly curved, the lower jaw recovers, the front view, the body leans forward, do not use the arm force to support the body, the center of gravity of the body should fall in the lower half of the body, so that the steering handle can be rotated flexibly.
When riding a bicycle, do not open your legs, you need to gently hold the fuel tank, the lower half of the body and the body to maintain the same state, in the curve, through the movement of the lower half of the body to maintain balance of the body. The feet are placed naturally on the pedal, the clutch handle is usually held with the little finger, the ring finger and the middle finger, and the handlebar is held with the index finger and the palm of the hand. The brake handle is generally held with two or three fingers, the other fingers hold the handlebar, the brake handle cannot be held with the whole hand, so the throttle cannot be rotated.

engine start
Shift the motorcycle gear to neutral first, if there is an air door switch, please close the air door first; Some scooters also pinch the brakes, turn on the power switch, if it is electric start, please note that the starting time should not exceed 3 seconds, the starting should not wait a little before starting. If the pedal is activated, press the starter lever with your foot until it activates. Do not increase the throttle immediately after the engine starts, you must make the engine temperature rise before driving, otherwise it may damage the engine.
Starting, shifting and parking
After the engine starts and warms up, check whether the light and switch are normal, do not turn on the headlights during the day, then remove your foot, observe the before and after situation, turn left. Grab the clutch and place your left foot on the brake pedal after first gear. Gradually increase the throttle and slowly release the clutch. Feel that the clutch is fully engaged before increasing the throttle. After being skillful, gear shifting, pinch clutch, fuel filler door is done in one stroke, you can start instantly.
After the motorcycle starts, with the speed acceleration to use the high grade. When the gear shift, the left hand quickly grab the clutch, close the small throttle, the right foot shift gear after loosen the clutch, then increase the throttle, complete the process from low to high. When you change gears, the clutch is separated, that is, Power is not output at this time, so you should shorten the clutch separation time as far as possible, in gear changing before the clutch grip the throttle should be reduced. If you want to stop or slow down, you have to switch from high to low, its action is similar to low to high.

Under normal parking conditions, you should first turn right, then slow down, downshift, and finally stop.

Brake
The motorcycle has front and rear two brakes, the body will move forward when braking on the road, at this time the front wheel bears the most weight, everyone knows that the friction between the wheel and the road surface is proportional to the pressure of the wheel on the ground, so the front brake plays an important role in braking. The brake force distribution ratio of the front and rear wheels should also be different depending on the speed of the vehicle. When the vehicle speed is slower, the braking force of the front and rear wheels is basically the same, when the speed is faster, the braking force distribution ratio of the front and rear wheels is generally 7 : 3, when the speed is especially fast, the front and rear wheel braking force distribution ratio is generally 8: 2 or 9: 1, can be adjusted as needed. When braking, the body will move forward, at this time should not press the weight on the hands, should use the knee, foot and thigh to support the body, prevent the body from flying.
Care must also be taken to prevent the front wheels from locking when braking, as the front wheels cannot control steering when "locked up", especially when braking in corners. And the front wheels "locked", the braking effect is not good, the most ideal braking force is almost "locked" wheel before the moment, as long as you practice hard, you can do it. At present, some high-quality motorcycles are equipped with ABS (anti-lock braking system), the principle of which is to reduce the braking force before the wheels lock and then brake, so that the cycle can achieve the goal of preventing wheel lock.

curve technique

When the motorcycle turns, the car leans inward, at this time the shoulder relaxes, the body tightens with the thigh and knee, the eyes lean toward the direction of the curve, the body leans inward of the curve, the knee and thigh are used to support the body, the body moves to the inside of the curve, the weight is supported by the inside pedal, this posture is mainly used in the radius of the large curve, the vehicle speed is high. Another posture is that the body leans towards the inside of the curve, while the body leans towards the outside of the curve. The key to the action is: hold the body with the knee and thigh, pull the handlebar inward, keep the upper body still, make the body lean inward first. This posture is generally used in the curve radius is small, the vehicle speed is slower, the most common posture is that the people and the car lean together, the body tilted, and the body in a straight line. Regardless of the leaning posture, the Movement must be natural and fast.
Before entering the corner, the straight section will slow down and brake, and the throttle will close. When it's time to turn, use the foot to step up the pedal on the inside of the curve, the body begins to lean, at this time, a little oil at a uniform speed over the curve, exit the curve quickly, start to increase the accelerator to accelerate the curve.
